Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy, and training. Women's empowerment is all about equipping and allowing women to make life-determining decisions through the different problems in society. SEVA encourages women to form self help groups. Such groups often lead to other initiatives such as credit schemes and starting of small scale enterprises to increase family income. By providing the women with the necessary skills to set up a village saving and loan scheme we seek to increase the financial independence of women and gender equity in the society.
We are also involved in ensuring women’s access to justice & justice systems through legal empowerment/awareness & enhancing the capacity of duty bearers in delivering justice. We are also promoting female condom to bring out a change in the underlying issues decision making through empowering women and promoting gender equity in HIV prevention as well as birth spacing program.
